Personal tags and selecting images

The viewer opens across the whole screen. Fit and Scroll sit over the image; the close control has a translucent background. The Figma board chip in the context box browses references from that board. It does not open a separate Figma link. Space and Element remain optional Auspicious context; hiding them keeps the board chip visible.

Add a tag to one reference

Open an image, find Your tags and choose Add tag. Enter a word or phrase and press Add or Enter. Click a personal tag to find other references with it; use its × button to remove it from this reference. Your personal words stay separate from the catalogue's fixed material, mood and other classifications.

Edit 40–50 images together

  1. Narrow the grid by a source, Figma board, section or search if useful.
  2. Choose Select images in the grid's action row, separate from the filters. The selection panel opens at the right and the grid resizes beside it. Click an image or its check circle. Shift-click another image to include the range between them in the current sort order.
  3. Choose Select all results to include the complete filtered result set, including images below the visible part of the page. The count is shown before editing. Filters do not silently add later results to your selection.
  4. Enter a personal tag in the selection panel. Add tag adds it only where it is missing; Remove tag removes it only from these selected references. No group dialog is needed.
  5. Use Show selected to inspect exactly which images will change, Clear to clear the selection, or close the panel / choose Exit selection to return to browsing. Small selected-image previews give a quick visual check.

The panel lists tags already on the selection, with counts such as 12/50. Clicking one fills the tag field for editing. Selections and a tag being typed survive filter changes during the session; the panel says how many selected images are currently in view. A page refresh clears the temporary selection, while saved tags remain. On a phone, the panel docks below the grid instead of squeezing it sideways.

Undo and find your edits

Undo reverses the most recent personal-tag operation in this session. It covers the full selection and preserves unselected records. Your tags is a grid filter; the normal search also includes personal tags. Tag matching ignores case and repeated spaces. The application prevents a failed storage write from partially applying a bulk edit.

Save and transfer tags

Personal tags, like the shortlist, are saved in this browser for this site's address. They are not shared with other people or synchronized across devices. A branch-preview address and the live address have different browser storage.

Export tags in the selection panel or the Your tags filter saves an auspicious-personal-tags.json backup. Import tags restores the personal tags for known reference IDs in that backup, including intentional removals; untouched reference IDs are left alone. References missing from this catalogue are skipped and counted. A successful import can be undone in the current session. Keep the export when transferring edits from a branch preview to the live app.

These backups are personal-tag data, not corrections.json; do not overwrite the library's human-correction files with them. A future shared editing service can use the same stable Figma node IDs, after deciding who may edit the library. No new public write endpoint is introduced here.

Remembered viewing choices

The viewer remembers Fit or Scroll, Space and Element visibility, and each detail section's open/closed state. The quiet Collapse details / Expand details control changes all detail sections. Full descriptions, identification evidence, collection sequences and record information remain available.
